Get Som Sleep – And Say Goodnight to Insomnia
Insomnia is a common sleep disorder that’s defined as an inability to fall or stay asleep, or feeling unrested after sleep for at least 3 nights a week for at least 3 months. More than 1 in 4 women in the United States experience insomnia, compared with fewer than 1 in 5 men…. and, Gurl, lemme tell ya–I AM that women. I can nap like a SOB but can’t fall asleep before 3am or stay asleep long enough to actually plant that kiss on Jake Gyllenhaal in my perpetually-vivid and very strange dreams.
Luckily for me, the team at Som Sleep must have seen the signs on my face because they shot me an email and sent me 2 boxes of their sleep-aid product to try. Let’s get ready for bed, Babes.

WHAT IS IT?
Som Sleep is a sleep aid drink that includes ingredients that are naturally found in your body, a healthy diet and green tea. It begins with targeted nutrition to support your body's own natural sleep-regulating cycle, relaxes the mind–preparing the brain to transition smoothly from wake to sleep–and provides the signal to sleep, facilitating the natural process of generating deep, restorative sleep.
There are 2 formulas–regular and sugar-free and both taste like a mildly sweet (the sugar-free version a bit less so), semi-fruity, semi-viscous “juice” drink. Think of the consistency of a Capri Sun except with way less sugar.
Team Som wanted to create a clean, drug-free solution that was as easy to use and ready whenever they needed it. Som is drug-free, non-GMO, allergy-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan. So it’s literally all-the-frees.
MY THOTS
So… here’s the Tee: the first time I tried the product I had been out drinking a bit. I downed the can and it knocked me the f$%k OUT. I woke up SO tired, was drowsy all day and super out of it. So the next time I tried it (she had also been drinkin’ a little bit) but only drank half a can. The same…thing…happened. So I either drink too much and shouldn’t take sleep aids when I do (which… I mean, makes sense) or this product is very strong. The next few times–until I ran through the first box–I only drank 1/4 of a can. That was my golden ticket.
I have trouble sleeping and have for, probably, the last 10 years. Som definitely helped me fall asleep and by decreasing the dose and (I would presume) getting somewhat accustomed to the product, I was able to fall asleep and wake up without feeling like I had slipped myself a quaalude.
At this point, having just finished my second box, I can confidently say that the product does what it’s supposed to, and I can drink an entire can without experiencing any adverse side effects. So… I guess the results are in–the product does what it’s supposed to do AND you shouldn’t go out for cocktails and then use a product that helps you fall asleep. Who knew? Thats showbiz, Baby.
Would I buy the product again? I’m on the fence. I don’t know if I think it’s any easier or more convenient that taking melatonin. Obviously melatonin is only one part of the equation in this product so it’s not really comparing apples to apples. It tastes good, it’s a nice little end to the evening, and I felt more rested than if I just took melatonin which–tbh–usually only helps me sleep for a few hours and then I’m up again. I wouldn’t turn one down if someone offered me one because I do like it…but I’m just not sure I would go out of my way to make sure it was constantly on hand.
