Chocolate Chip Cookies

There’s just something about a homemade chocolate chip cookie. I've combined my trial-and-errors recipe, compared it to Betty Crocker’s and created the official FOX+HEART Feel Good Kitchen Chocolate Chip Cookie. Good vanilla and a dash of cinnamon make these made-from-scratch cookies chewy/gooey, slightly crunchy + perfectly sweet.

Supplies/Tools

I use a standing mixer when I make these. I would recommend a KitchenAid if you have one available because they’re as amazing as people say they are.

I also absolutely love my magnetic stacking measuring spoons. If you have a set on a “key ring” and are tired of taking them apart and everything going all over your drawer or accidentally getting the entire set dirty when you’re trying to measure with one spoon, look into these. You can get them on Amazon or pretty much wherever, at this point. I love that they go down to 1/8 ts (not very common) and they come with a leveler which is 🤌🏼.

Just The Tip: If you are looking for a mixer but not looking to spend full-price, Facebook Marketplace always has them listed!

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c All Purpose Flour

    • If using self-rising flour, do not add baking soda or salt!

  • 3/4 c Sugar

  • 3/4 c Packed Brown Sugar

  • 1 Egg

  • 1 c (2 sticks) Unsalted Butter or Margarine — Softened

  • 1 ts GOOD Vanilla

  • 1 ts Baking Soda

  • 1/4 ts Cinnamon (optional)

  • 1/2 ts Salt

  • 1 Package (12 oz) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375º.

  • Cream butter, sugar, vanilla + egg in a stand mixer until fluffy (a few minutes).

  • Add flour, baking soda, salt + cinnamon and mix until incorporated.

  • Add in chocolate chips and combine. (I do this part by hand).

  • Drop rounded teaspoons of dough onto UNGREASED cookie sheet. Gently rolling into balls gives more rounded cookies.

  • Bake for 8–10 mins until light-golden brown. The edges will be firm and the middle will be soft. (8 was perfect for me).

  • Briefly cool on cookie sheet and then remove to wire rack to cool completely.
